Beginner DJ Classes
Taught in two formats, our Beginner DJ Classes are where aspiring DJ's with little or no experience learn the skills that are fundamental to playing great live DJ sets. You’ll be armed with enough skill to perform, record and publish your own sound and style, experiencing music in a whole new way!
Students are guided by career professionals through the key features of DJ hardware and software, unlocking track-to-track mixing, beat matching, stem splitting and how to add FX to a song live.

- An overview of what unites every single DJ setup, without exception

- Headphone activation
- An entry level understanding of signal flow & volume control
- By the end of this class, you'll know how to seamlessly mix from one track to the next like a pro.

SINGLE DJ CLASS
- A one-time booking for 2hrs where you'll be coached by a pro DJ.
GROUP DJ COURSE
- 4 x 2hr sessions with up to 5 other students held each Saturday of the month (starting week one) coached by a pro DJ. Hard to beat the value for money with this option, and it's always super fun, too!
ARIA Club DJ James Tobin has more than fifteen years experience as a DJ performing at some of Sydney's most aspirational venues - Home Nightclub, ivy, UNIVERSAL, ARQ Sydney. He also works as a music producer and mix engineer out of his own studio with local artists and on releasing tracks of his own.
A true and classical musician at heart, James received a music scholarship aged just 8 which in concert with his experience as a performer provided the ideal springboard for he and his music partner Tom Pritchard to create Sydney DJ Classes …a company dedicated to providing accessible, affordable classes to aspiring young DJ’sLevel 1, 85 Alexander Street
